Great afternoon

Saturday afternoon was enjoyed by all who took part. Over the course of the afternoon more Himalayan Balsam was cleared, along with a large area dominated by nettles and goosegrass by the Bridge St gate.  The Wych Elm we planted in spring is now able to be seen again and appears to be flourishing despite being covered by nettles. This is a nice sunny area and the clearance will pave the way for a host of wildflowers in an effort to increase biodiversity.  More than 400 plants have gone in during the last few weeks, mostly foxgloves and primulas. The new secured feeding area is now well underway, with volunteers erecting the fencing and stile over the weekend. A great big thanks to all who took part.
